Diesel was hit by a car and to save him from being euthanized, Animal Aid took ownership. He had surgery, followed by therapy and fully recovered. Just a note: while his leg is completely healed, he shouldn't be over-exercised - there is a chance that it could aggravate the break and potentially lead to further rehab. He's a strong boy, drooly, sweet, kind, and who still has lots of energy and is ready to join his loving, forever home.
If you have been to the shelter, you have probably heard Diesel. There is nothing quite like the distinctive bay/bark of a Blue Tick. He enjoys communing with nature and makes sure that everyone knows it. He just can't contain his joy! But don't be fooled into thinking that he is noisy all the time. Put a leash on him, take him for a walk and he is quiet as a mouse. Come and sit a spell with him to witness what pure bliss looks like on his face when he has someone visiting with him.
He was adopted out by a lovely fmily who enjoyed him very much, but he just wasn't the right fit for their pack. They provided us with some additional insight into his behavior: he does enjoy the company of other dogs, however, they will need to be more laid back. He is not a fan of dominant dogs and so would do best as an only dog or with a laid back pooch that will not invade his personal space. He very much loves his people and does great with kiddos. He is a counter surfer and a pro at sniffing out any dropped/or hidden food.
