This is such a positive development and will greatly impact (in a good way) the planned rebuild of our facility. The addition of new language to the regulations on sheltering requirements gives us much more flexibility for the design of the new housing we will be creating. Most importantly, it creates a distinction between indoor and outdoor enclosures, so we are no longer in jeopardy of the accelerated fine assessment that would have ultimately resulted in us closing down our facility. We are going back to the drawing board to come up with the revised plan for the improvements we will be doing. Thank you so much to everyone who reached out to their legislators and encouraged them to support this bill!
